Leaving Upgrade.Chat
What moved us off Upgrade.Chat was a statement. Our own community's supporter roles ran there for years and the setup worked: members paid into our PayPal or Stripe, the bot handed out the role, and nobody thought about it. Then one month we added up the share of every sale it had taken, on top of what PayPal and Stripe were already charging, and worked out what that does over another few years of the same members renewing. Their share is set by plan and today's rates are on upgrade.chat/pricing. Ours is a flat monthly price for the software above a free tier, with no fee on your sales.
The second push was smaller. We wanted to build our own tooling on top of our payment records, went looking for the API, and found barely enough public documentation to start with. So we wrote this, and it runs those same roles now. Same two payment accounts, same bot handing out the same role, except this time the API is documented and we're the ones on the hook when it isn't. Outside our own Discord it's in early access.
Moving over
Export from Upgrade.Chat, upload the file, and the history comes across as Upgrade.Chat reported it. We don't recalculate anyone's totals or round anything, and old rows stay tagged as brought-in so a year from now you can still tell which sales were theirs. Nothing is asked of your members until their next renewal, which they pay through your new storefront link.
